Cosmetic dentistry is frequently used to refer to any dental work that enhances the appearance (though not necessarily the functionality) of the teeth, gums and/or bite. It essentially concentrates on the improvement of dental esthetics including color, position, shape, size, alignment, and overall smile appearance.

Many dentists point to themselves as being “cosmetic dentists” regardless of their education, specialty, training, or background in this field.

The American Dental Association does not acknowledge cosmetic dentistry as a formal specialty. However, because of Dr. Martin’s extensive experience in this area, he is widely considered a leader for any aesthetic variation of General Dentistry.

Family Dentistry

Family Dentistry, also recognized as General Dentistry is a remarkably broad specialty that encompasses your whole oral health. Family dentistry addresses oral health at each stage of life. Kids have unique dental needs when compared to adults, and as a qualified family dentist, Dr. Martin aims to deliver comprehensive oral care regardless of age.

Like general dentistry, family dentistry is focused on the complete oral hygiene and overall health of your teeth.

Not only do family dentists comprehend how kid’s teeth change as they age, but they also understand that children may develop a fear of going to the dentist. Dr. Martin has a gentle approach so that children will form positive associations with regular dental checkups and develop good oral hygiene habits for the rest of their life.

Restorative Dentistry

Since its beginning, restorative dentistry has seen notable changes and has evolved in response to factors such as:

  • Increased life expectancy
  • Greater patient awareness and expectations
  • Greater ability to treat patients with more complex conditions
  • Increased recognition of the importance of oral health for complex medical and surgical conditions

Restorative dentistry includes the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of a wide variety of oral disorders. There are numerous restorative options available depending on your needs.

Dr. Martin takes the time to evaluate and understand your particular case and will then recommend a personalized treatment plan to restore any teeth that are decayed, chipped, cracked, discolored or missing.

Dr. Martin uses various computerized instruments to measure your jaw movements and your jaw muscle motion to learn the extent of your problem and to ascertain a “physiologic rest position” for the jaw.

If you have been suffering from constant headaches or have trouble chewing Dr. Marting may be able to bring your relief.
