Meet Dr. Charles Martin DDS
“Tampa is my hometown, and also my parents' and grandparents'. I love this community, and knew I'd come back after dental school to begin my practice in South Tampa. Now, it's an extension of my life; I'm always running into my patients at the grocery store or high school football games. ”

Since the 1990s, I have been taking advanced courses in aesthetic dentistry at one of the world’s leading cosmetic dentistry training facilities, The Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. There, LVI trained me in cutting edge technology and technique, which deepened my passion for providing superior aesthetic services in my South Tampa dental practice. So, in addition to general dentistry, I devote a large amount of time to improving and restoring patients’ smiles. Since 1996, I have veneered over 6000 teeth.
I offer an array of dental services to cater to your needs, including cosmetic, general, and restorative dentistry. I even specialize in TMJ treatment.
I have been in private practice as a Tampa dentist since 1982, here in my beautiful hometown of Tampa, Florida. Although I have always provided a wide array of general and preventative dental services, I began to develop a real passion for aesthetic and cosmetic dentistry in the early 1990s.
Life is busy and we get that. We do our very best to offer same-day appointments and will come in during the evenings and weekends for dental emergencies.
My life outside dentistry revolves around my wife, Cathy and our three children, Charlie, Maggie, and Katie. We enjoy spending time together traveling, hiking, biking, playing golf and going to the beach. I am an avid reader, particularly of biographies and history.
I want to give you a smile you can be proud of. From the very beginning of your treatment, my team and I will work with you to exceed your expectations.

Tracey has spent her career in the dental field. She began as a dental assistant in 1988, and then decided to pursue becoming a dental hygienist. She obtained her degree from Palm Beach Community College in 1996, and joined our office in 1999. Like Marilyn, she also worked in periodontics, in fact they were colleagues at the same office. She brings a wealth of dental knowledge and experience to the job.
Tracey is married, with two sons. Her hobbies include travel, going to the beach, and spending time with her family.
Eileen joined our office in 2010 directly after finishing her dental hygiene degree at Hillsborough County Community College and becoming a licensed hygienist. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from St.Petersburg College in 2012. She is also a licensed Florida realtor, and runs her own business, an all-girls song and dance group. Check out her website at livestageentertainment.com
Eileen has a 15 year background in singing and dancing herself, having performed extensively at many venues, including theme parks in Tampa and Orlando, as well as internationally.
Eileen is married, with two children, and we marvel at her energy.
Gatlyn has been Dr.Martin’s dental assistant since 2010. After spending time in the construction industry, doing a myriad of jobs, he decided to do a different kind of work with his hands by becoming a dental assistant. He received his training from the Sanford Brown Technical School, graduating in 2010.
He was referred to our office by his instructor at the school who told us he had the best hands of all the students in her class, and Dr. Martin will confirm that is true. Gatlyn is a talented and skilled dental assistant.
He still likes spending most of his spare time outside, fishing, hunting, or doing anything in the outdoors. Gatlyn is married with three children.
Marilyn is a native of Tampa, and has spent her career in the dental field. She began working in 1989 for a periodontist in Tampa. After he retired, we were lucky to have her join us in 2005.
Marilyn keeps our office organized by scheduling and checking out patients. She also answers phones and emails, and monitors all the activities at the front desk, a true feat of multi-tasking. She does all this with a smile and enthusiasm.
Marilyn enjoys fashion, fitness, and travel, and is an animal lover. She enjoys seeing pictures of our patients’ pets.
Britt is a native of Leesburg, FL and became a dental hygienist upon graduating from Florida State College of Jacksonville in 1998. She joined our office in 2006, after working several years in a pediatric dental office. She is great with kids, not only at work but also in her spare time, and has even coached a girls running group.
Her hobbies include participating in triathlons and marathons, and spending time with family, especially her husband and son. She has a yellow lab named Ellie.
Patty is a native of Illinois whose family moved to Florida when she was a teenager. She graduated from St Petersburg College and began her career as a hygienist in 1990. Patty joined our office in 2004 and has been invaluable in so many ways: she helps not only in hygiene but also at the front desk, and sometimes assisting. She is the consummate team player, willing to help in any way she can.
Patty is married with two grown children, and enjoys gardening, reading, and baking.
Alexis has been with our office since 2004 as a dental assistant. She graduated from Erwin Technical Center in 1997.
Alexis is a native of Tampa, and is married with three children. Her hobbies include gardening in her butterfly garden, vacationing in Canada, and spending time with family. She is an animal lover, and has an infectious laugh that permeates our office.
Cathleen Valentine Martin
Cathy is married to Dr. Martin and works behind the scenes as an office administrator.
She is a native of Ohio, and attended The College of William and Mary for both her undergraduate and law school degrees. She began her law career in Tampa as an Assistant State Attorney, and spent several years prosecuting misdemeanors and felonies, including a rewarding year in the Sex Crimes Division.
When she married Dr. Martin and they had three children, she decided to change direction and combine family with helping run the dental office.
She enjoys travel, especially to northern Michigan and the U.K., and spending time with family.
